Nextcloud touts its high security and regulatory compliance as a distinguishing feature. NextCloud spun out of ownCloud in 2016 and shares much of the same functionality. OwnCloud offers comprehensive documentation, including an installation guide and manuals for users, admins, and developers, and you can access its source code in its GitHub repository. You can also expand its functionality with a wide variety of third-party apps available in its marketplace, and there is also a paid, commercially licensed enterprise edition. Data transfers are secured by end-to-end encryption (E2EE) and SSL encryption. With ownCloud, you can sync and access files through clients for Linux, MacOS, or Windows computers or mobile apps for Android and iOS devices, and provide password-protected links to others for collaboration or file upload/download. (Self-hosting is a common thread among the apps on this list.) Its primary difference (aside from its open source license) is that your files are hosted on your private Linux server or cloud, giving users complete control over your data. Its primary features-file and folding sharing, document collaboration-are similar to Dropbox's. OwnCloud, launched in 2010, is the oldest application on this list, but don't let that fool you: It's still very popular (with over 1.5 million users, according to the company) and actively maintained by a community of 1,100 contributors, with updates released regularly.

I've been eyeing off Goosebumps (books), Pirates of Dark Water (cartoon), Sacrifice (video game), and a couple of other things as potential projects, but I'm not really sure which I should dive into. Not too sure if I'll do that as my next project, or work on a different jump. I've basically developed a 'style' for my jump documents now, so it makes sense to go back to my first and update it. I'm thinking about doing a 1.1 update for the Gloryhammer jump document, to bring it visually in line with the Katamari Damacy and The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals documents and maybe add a bit more. it's enormous! Would it perhaps be better to cut it down significantly and have most of the supporting information on katamaris in an Appendix/Notes section at the back? Or is it fine as-is? I'm honestly not 100 per cent happy with the Katamari perk. As always, I'm more than happy to take whatever feedback or suggestions you may have! If I get enough enthusiasm I'll do an update at some stage. It's a little lighter on perks/items/drawbacks compared to my last jump document, but I think it covers most things off pretty well. Now you, too, can roll a great big ball of doom over your enemies while upbeat music plays~! NaNa~ NaNaNaNaNa-NaNa NaNaNa-NaNaNa. For those of you that are interested, here's Katamari Damacy: I'm honestly not sure what made me decide to write this jump. Open your iPad or iPhone settings, and then toggle Chrome autofill on. Very well, as long as you do not limit yourself to what the majority of guides will suggest you do, that is to use Office 365 dark mode. Dark mode has given me the best of both worlds: a more or less ‘normal’ looking setup, only with bigger fonts, less eye candy and, well, darker colors. Because of my deteriorating eyesight, I don’t have such a luxury: I can’t read dark text on bright/light colored background, be it on screen or on paper.īefore dark mode was a thing, I was using a high contrast accessibility theme-which is great but also way too radical for my specific needs. Depending of your version you can use the Switch Modes option to quickly disable dark mode on the document canvas. Some users consider dark mode a fad. Note: A new Microsoft feature allows to do this setting right from the View menu. Then, next to the Office Theme drop-down, hit Disable Dark Mode.If you want to keep the white background for your document, and still use a darker Word theme please proceed as following: Word dark mode with White pagesĭepending on your Word version, switching to dark mode could have switched also your document canvas color to black. In the Options || Word Settings dialog, just go ahead and select White. You can obviously move back then needed to light mode by using the same process outlined in the previous section. The Word layout theme, was changed to Dark.In the Office Theme drop down select Dark (as shown below). This will work on Windows 10 & 11 and macOS versions of Office. Although you can set your theme to dark in each of the apps, once done, the setting will apply to all Office apps. You can easily change your Microsoft Word (or any other Office app such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc) theme to a darker or more colorful layout with ease. Thanks for the question, see our answer below. Is it something i will need to have the IT folks do, or can it be done by a user? Let’s say that i want to change my Word layout to dark. Seemed much more easy on the eye that we typically use in our company. One thing that caught my eye was the fact that his Word interface was completely black, instead of the typical white background. In a recent Teams meeting i participated, the meeting host was sharing a Word Document through the Teams app. Transcoding via Plex Media Server might be difficult or impossible (read: lots of buffering). Dance MatĪ UK-based program on the BBC website, called Dance Mat, will draw your children in with the colourful graphics and animal characters. They start off slow, which is great for beginners, only practicing two letters to start with, including ‘f and j’, allowing your child to cement their skills with the home keys before progressing. Both of these programs are American, however they are free to sign up and available for Australians. Īnother typing program that rewards your child with stars, points and achievements for their typing practice, is called. TypingClub is available online and as an app for Apple and Android! This allows your child to learn, not only on the computer but on an iPad, on the go! Your child will build stars and points, allowing them to measure their progress. TypingClub is a free program that provides great instructional videos that will engage your child and teach them about the wonders of typing. One of the programs I have come across is TypingClub. Schools have introduced typing into their curriculum, however, are they getting enough practice and guidance to become confident in typing? We started to think about what typing programs were out there for kids to learn in their free time, that were fun and educational. Through our research we’ve found a combination of free and paid programmes - here are the top ones discovered: TypingClub BUT how can we expect our kids to start completing exams online when we haven’t taught them the skill to type? Typing is an important skill to learn as examinations, including NAPLAN may be moving to a computer based system. The use of technology is constantly increasing for children, especially in the school environment. So learning to type - and learning it correctly! - is important to help set your child up for their future. Learning to type is a skill children increasingly need in our tech-reliant world. The presets are handy and include many “creative” presets. When the plugin is run, it brings up dozens of presets off to the left. HDR Effex Pro is the perfect program for people who like the HDR look but don't want to spend the time to learn this form of art. HDR Effex Pro makes it easier to achieve good image quality and interesting effects Since HDR Effex Pro is not 1.5 times better than Photomatix, the price tag is unwarranted. Photomatix 4 costs $99 for the full stand-alone version, but HDR Effex Pro costs $159.95 for the plugin. Photomatix also wins the prize for price. This reduces the amount of noise caused by user error in tonemapping mistakes. HDR Effex Pro delivers cleaner and less noisy photos than Photomatix in my opinion however, this may be partly because HDR Effex Pro uses more presets and does not provide the ability to tweak the presets as well. This is disappointing because texture is is one of my main attractions to shooting HDR photos. When using HDR Effex Pro, I was not able to bring out the texture with as much precision. While only 5 or 6 of the sliders are actually necessary in most situations, it is handy to have supreme control when necessary.īecause of the amount of controls available in Photomatix, I am able to bring out amazing amounts of texture in an image. It has approximately 20 sliders which control every possible quality of the image. If you are serious about HDR and want to fine-tune every tiny aspect of image quality, then Photomatix is for you. Photomatix Pro 4 has superior control over the image After fairly extensive testing of both Photomatix 4 and HDR Effects Pro, I have come to the conclusion that the best product for serious HDR photographers is Photomatix 4, and the best program for people who are interested in just dabbling in HDR and don't have a lot of experience with digital image editing in Photoshop will prefer HDR Effex Pro. What are the differences between Nik HDR Effex Pro and Photomatix 4? Which one is better? Which one is best? Read this review and learn…įirst of all, the conclusion. The definitions are sourced from the famous and open-source WordNet database, so a huge thanks to the many contributors for creating such an awesome free resource. In case you didn't notice, you can click on words in the search results and you'll be presented with the definition of that word (if available). For those interested, I also developed Describing Words which helps you find adjectives and interesting descriptors for things (e.g. So this project, Reverse Dictionary, is meant to go hand-in-hand with Related Words to act as a word-finding and brainstorming toolset. That project is closer to a thesaurus in the sense that it returns synonyms for a word (or short phrase) query, but it also returns many broadly related words that aren't included in thesauri. I made this tool after working on Related Words which is a very similar tool, except it uses a bunch of algorithms and multiple databases to find similar words to a search query. So in a sense, this tool is a "search engine for words", or a sentence to word converter. It acts a lot like a thesaurus except that it allows you to search with a definition, rather than a single word. The engine has indexed several million definitions so far, and at this stage it's starting to give consistently good results (though it may return weird results sometimes). For example, if you type something like "longing for a time in the past", then the engine will return "nostalgia". It simply looks through tonnes of dictionary definitions and grabs the ones that most closely match your search query. The way Reverse Dictionary works is pretty simple.
